The 24ths hour

This mixed-media is exploration of the internal emotional labor, hidden anxieties, and resilient truths of womanhood. At the centre of the composition sits a traditional worry doll, locked away behind a heavy, black frame outfitted with a door hinge. This central focal point serves as a metaphor for the private anxieties, fears, and vulnerabilities that women are to lock up, hide away, and suppress behind a performance of composure.
